The Gwynllan Society

The Gwynllan Society: A Legacy of Transformational Impact

In 1972, Montgomery County Community College moved its campus from Conshohocken to its current location in Blue Bell. The Blue Bell property, once known as Gwynllan Farm, was founded by Alexander Thayer in the 1920s. The large farm boasted a herd of dairy cows and also contained a dairy store where fresh farm products could be purchased, including the farm's own ice cream. The silos and barn still stand and were incorporated into the architecture of the beautiful Fine Arts Center!

The Gwynllan Society: A Legacy of Transformational Impact

The Gwynllan Society celebrates a distinguished group of retirees, alumni, employees, parents, community members and friends who have made a powerful commitment to the future of Montgomery County Community College through planned gifts. By including MCCCF in their estate plans, members of the Gwynllan Society create a lasting legacy that will empower future generations of students to thrive academically, personally, and professionally. These transformational gifts-whether through gifts from will, trusts, or other forms of planned giving-help sustain and advance the College's mission, ensuring that our programs, scholarships, and campus initiatives continue to flourish for years to come.

Transform Lives—Today and Tomorrow

The Gwynllan Society is more than a giving society; it is a community of individuals who believe in the power of education to transform lives. By joining, you make a profound difference in the lives of future students who will become the leaders of tomorrow and help preserve the College's legacy of excellence.

Together, we build a stronger tomorrow.

I have been very fortunate to have so many people influence my life, my nursing career and my work in positive ways. Initially, by establishing an award, in memory of my Mom who passed away in March 2009, is just one way to recognize MCCC Student Graduate(s) who have done well in their studies, as well as, exemplified a commitment to community service. In addition, to this Award, I want MCCC to continue its Mission of serving its various communities & providing opportunities for students, especially those from low-income families, the opportunity to attend the College and experience the quality & depth of the education available. This has motivated me to include the College in my estate planning. While it may not be a large amount, I believe all small amounts add up to something much bigger. So I would like to encourage as many friends of the College to do what they can no matter how small or how big the amount may be." – Gwynllan Society Member –
